In an interview with Transformers fan site Seibertron.com, one the developers for the upcoming video game based on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen says that fans “will find plenty of recognizable voices in the game.” Although they can’t provide specific details at this time, they say that they “have a huge roster of talent from the new film and the previous game.”
In related news, MovieWeb says Mike Patton, lead singer of the rock band “Faith No More” has been confirmed to be providing the voice of one of the Constructicons in ROTF. The role is described as “more of a cameo.” Patton has previously voiced video game characters in The Darkness, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Bionic Commando.
Elsewhere, Home Media Magazine says that the entire original Transformers TV series will be released on DVD in 2009 by Shout! Factory. TVShowsonDVD.com had previously announced that The Transformers: The Complete First Season — 25th Anniversary Edition would be released on June 16th, but Shout! will be following this release later this summer with “special complete series sets” for both Transformers and G.I. Joe. Additionally, TVShowsonDVD.com has confirmed that “these releases will contain additional bonus material above and beyond what’s going to be available on the individual season sets.”
Season 1 will be priced at $29.99 and “will include the original broadcast versions of all 16 episodes from the 1984 season in the intended storyline order, with remastered picture and a new stereo soundtrack created from the original audio,” and “[tentative] extras include the featurette ‘Triplechanger: From Toy to Comic to Screen: The Origins of the Transformers,’ a printable script, rare PSAs, toy commercials and a limited-edition Autobot magnet.”
