iFMagazine reports:
There’s no word on what it is, but the FAMILY GUY creator could very well land a fourth prime-time animation series on Fox.
“He’s stretched thin,” admits Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly at today’s Winter TCA. “We’ve got one other show we’re contemplating with Seth and looking to broaden our animation brand out too. I love working with the guy, but our plan is not all Seth, all the time. He has something up his sleeve that’s animated, so we’re going to continue to be in business with him for quite a few years and I think you’ll see us to broaden out that brand a little bit.”
Elsewhere, Zap2it.com reports:
“Family Guy” will air its 150th episode, “Brian and Stewie” on Sunday, May 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It will revolve around how the titular dog and baby (both voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane) deal with each other when they’re locked in a bank vault. The episode will take place in real time.
MacFarlane described this same episode in a Dec. 15th interview (via Movieweb) thusly, “Brian and Stewie get locked in a vault for an entire episode and it’s just sort of a one-act play. Quagmire finds out a deep dark secret about his dad. We also have a Return of the Jedi episode coming up as well.” MacFarlane added that upcoming guest voices included Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Rush Limbaugh.
And in related news, The New York Times reports:
A special 20th anniversary episode of “The Simpsons” ended with a thank-you message from the show’s producers to viewers, but appeared to omit a joke at the expense of their Fox colleague and sometime-rival Seth MacFarlane.
The episode, which was broadcast on Sunday, ended with an on-screen display that read, “Thanks for 20 wonderful years. The best is yet to come.” But in a version of the show that was sent in advance to critics, the message read slightly differently: as Alessandra Stanley noted in her review of the episode, it said, “Thanks for 20 wonderful years. Now stay tuned for three Seth MacFarlane shows.”
