Voice Actors in the News – Staff Contributors:
EILEEN “HARLEY” CRUZ (Joined January 2010)
[Personal bio forthcoming]
All hail Harley, toonzone.net Admin-In-Chief! Eileen and her husband Brian were the first to offer a platform to publish Voice Actors in the News back in 1999. I’m grateful to both of them for their support, encouragement and friendship over the years. Eileen is responsible for redesigning the blog from scratch and her continued efforts to make this a quality site are greatly appreciated.
DOREEN MULMAN (Joined May 2010)
Doreen maintains official websites for several popular voice actors such as Frank Welker, Tara Strong, Charlie Adler and Dino Andrade as well as official memorials for Mary Kay Bergman, Jean Vander Pyl and Sam Melville. She resides in North Hollywood, CA and loves collecting/selling toys, voice over, animation and ’60s nostalgia.
You can view the full list of Doreen’s sites on her official site: Sites By Doreen (leftforever.com), and she posts all her site updates via Facebook and Twitter (@leftforever). She also sells autographed memorabilia through her Shop Down Memory Lane blog.
SONIA LAI (Joined May 2010)
[Personal bio forthcoming]
Sonia has been a supporter and friend of Voice Actors in the News since it was a fanzine. She was also among the very first members of The Voice Actors Appreciation Society. Her devotion to news reporting in service to the fandom since she has joined the staff is a wonder to behold, and her efforts are hugely appreciated.
JEFF BIRNBAUM (Joined May 2010)
Jeff has spent most of his life watching cartoons, especially since the debut of Cartoon Network in 1992. He first became fascinated with voice acting while attending the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con, and has since assimilated as much knowledge on the subject as possible. In 2010, Jeff made his first step towards becoming a voice actor by attending Tony Oliver’s Bang Zoom’s Adventures In Voice Acting workshop, as well as through voice coaching from Kyle Hebert at the 2010 Animation On Display convention.
Jeff also posts about voice acting and other genre-related interests via Twitter (@JEFFBM).
KYLE HEBERT (Joined July 2010)
Kyle is our staff’s resident industry pro — a Los Angeles-based voice actor whose credits include Street Fighter IV (Ryu), Naruto (Kiba), Bleach (Aizen, Ganju), Gurren Lagann (Kamina), and is most known as the Narrator and Teen Gohan from Dragonball Z. Other select credits include Final Fantasy XIII, World of Warcraft, Devil May Cry 4, Dynasty Warriors, and Star Ocean, among many others.
Kyle is known as a highly interactive and accessible voice actor to the fandom, always mingling with fans at cons and online, utilizing social media daily along with streaming random live webcam chats, and he also offers private voice acting critique sessions through his official website: www.kylehebert.com.
MARK ALLEN JR. (Joined July 2010)
Mark was always one of those “weird” kids growing up. So it was no surprise when he pursued cartoons as an escape. He began putting in a lot of time expanding his abilities, honing his acting skills, and with the help of several talented friends he has slowly worked his way towards achieving his dream of providing voices for cartoons. His hope is that one day, he too can make a “weird” kid feel right at home.
Mark is the creator and co-host of the weekly radio show “Hearing Voices” at California State University, Fullerton. It’s all about voice acting and the industry, and gives listeners the chance to learn and interact with professionals. Mark also posts about his adventures in the voice acting world through his blog — Return to Sender — and via Twitter (@MarkAllenJr).
ASHLEY MOON TRAYDER (Joined August 2010)
Jess Harnell/Rock Sugar Correspondent
Ashley has always been interested in voice acting even though she never watched much TV. Growing up in Tasmania, Australia, she loved listening to audiobooks and audio dramas like Adventures in Odyssey on the radio.
Now living near a big city like Melbourne, she is able to enjoy cartoons and animated movies regularly. Ash’s other interests are painting, dancing, animal activism and is working towards a diploma in music. She also is the host of two fan groups for her favourite voice actor Jess Harnell on MySpace and Facebook.
ROSEMARY WARD, AKA “SCREAMERS” (Joined November 2010)
Rosemary is a devoted toy collector and cosplayer known online for her retro toy blogs at Retro Screamers Flashbacks, where she also publishes voice actor spotlights and interviews. She works with many conventions (like Botcon) as a volunteer, and has assisted voice actors such as Peter Cullen and Larry Kenney during toy shows.
Rosemary also writes for Paper Dragon Ink, and you can also find her on Facebook and Twitter (@screamer85).
ANDRE SMITH (Joined September 2011)
Andre has been obsessed with cartoons nearly all his life. He began drawing cartoons and imitating character voices at a young age, which created a desire to learn more about the voices he heard in cartoons. Andre graduated from college with a degree in film and video, and has since been on a quest to meet his favorite voice actors and animators. He spends his time drawing cartoon characters, imitating character voices, watching movies, reading comic books, playing video games and attending conventions.
VALERIE TIDWELL (Joined September 2011)

JOHN J. GALBO (Joined November 2011)
[Personal bio forthcoming] John is the admin for adultswimcentral.com
